ENL 308 - Language in Society3 Credit(s) V This course investigates the relationship between language and human society and explored societal and linguistic inequities. A variety of relevant topics will be explored, possibly including language variety; language and ethnicity; language, literacy and education; language contact; language and gender; and aspects of language and culture. Students will learn to apply these concepts in a project involving the analysis of original data. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: ENL102, 102ESL, 103, or 106H.
