POL 231 - Introduction to Political Theory3 Credit(s) A survey of the history of political theory. Intended to introduce students to the major theoretical answers to fundamental questions of political life. Readings may include selections from Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Tocqueville, Marx and Nietzsche. Three lecture hours per week. Not open to students who have received credits for POL300 or POL302.
