ENL 102ESL Composition II for English as a Second Language 3 Credit(s) This course is exclusively for students whose first language is not English. It builds on the skills taught in . The course teaches students how to conduct basic research and to compose persuasive and research essays on topics of interest to an academic community. At least one system of formal documentation will be discussed in detail. Extensive reading and evaluation of non-fiction texts will be required. Emphasis will be placed on achieving correctness in written English. Equivalent to . Three lecture/activity hours per week. Not open to students who have received credit for ENG102E.
Prerequisites: ENG101, , ENG101ESL, or placement by recommendation of the English Department.
