SWK 325 Developmental Disabilities in a Social Work Context 3 Credit(s) This course examines the theoretical, social, political and social work practice aspects of working with people with disabilities, with emphasis on developmental disabilities (DD). Focus is on delivery systems serving people with DD and issues involved in social work practice with this population. Particular attention is paid to the at-risk status of persons with DD. Students use various strategies to clarify their personal potential to work with persons with disabilities. Three lecture hours per week.
