BHS 301 Introduction to Healthcare Research

3 Credit(s) W-II
This course is designed to enable the student to understand the interrelationship between research and practice. Emphasis is placed on the the examination of research methodology, the critical appraisal of published research, and the integration of research into evidence-based practice.  The course builds on the skills developed in BHS201 to develop a potential capstone project. Students will identify an issue or area of practice of interest, conduct a literature review, write a proposal and present it in class. Required of BHS majors. Fulfills the Level II general education requirement for writing. Prerequisites: BHS 247  or OCT 247  or MAT 147  for non BHS majors, and completion of a W-I course.
