ENL 305 History of the English Language

3 Credit(s)
A study of the historical development of sounds, inflection, structure, and vocabulary of English, with particular attention to Middle English and early modern English. Three lecture hours per week.  Not open to students who have received credit for ENG 323.   Prerequisite: ENG 102, ENL 102  ENG 102E,   ENG 103, ENL 103,  ENG 106H, or   and at least one English course at the 200- level or permission of the department chairperson.
