EDG 825 - Topics in Place-Based Education3 Credit(s) Place-based education (PBE) is an approach that uses all aspects of the local environment as the integrating context for curricular-based cross-disciplinary teaching and learning that promotes civic engagement. This course introduces educators to PBE in partnership with a community organization that represents the cultural, natural, and/or historic resources of a particular location or region. Participants will demonstrate understanding by designing, implementing, and documenting teaching-learning projects with their students that address real-world contexts and needs. Includes site visits. This course may be repeated with new organizational partners and/or themes.
