NUR 415B Public Health Nursing

This course introduces the senior level nursing student to the theoretical foundations and practice of public health nursing. Concepts related to population health, health disparities, health promotion, and disease prevention are explored within the context of the Social Determinants of Health (SDH) in the classroom and clinical setting. As a DPDS course, Public Health Nursing explores the structures, systems, and policies within the US that result in resource inequities and health disparities. (4.5 credits; at the end of this course, the student will have completed 30 hours of theory and 90 hours of clinical).
