 |  OCT 300 Interprofessional Practice in the Context of Diversity and Social Justice 3 Credit(s)                DPDSThis course provides students with an interprofessional perspective on group dynamics in the context of diversity and social justice.  The course will enhance the skills necessary to effectively function as a member of a highly productive interprofessional team, while specifically addressing the influence of racism, sexism, and ableism on the group dynamic.  Using textbooks, scholarly articles, media, experiential learning, self-reflection, and discussion, instructional emphasis will be on effective team leadership / group membership skills that promote diversity, self-awareness, attentiveness to oppression and systemic inequality, and cultural responsivity.  Three lecture hours per week.  Department consent required.
