OCT 717 - Introduction to Professional Reasoning and Occupational-based Treatment Planning across the Lifespan3 Credit(s) This course will explore the components of professional reasoning. Students will develop an appreciation and understanding of the process involved in making sound and ethical client-care decisions. Exposure to models of professional reasoning with emphasis placed on formulating skills that enable students to comprehend vital connections interwoven with the professional decision-making process and in one’s own professional development. This course will support the development of professional reasoning skills to develop occupational therapy treatment plans that will include problem identification, goal setting, frame of reference identification, and the decision-making involved for choosing appropriate and safe treatment interventions. Three lecture hours per week. Limited to OT majors.
