CRJ 402 Drugs and Crime 3 Credit(s) This seminar will examine the effect that drugs, both legal and illegal, have on society and the criminal justice system. Critical analysis and in-class discussion will be the format used to address issues such as the effect of the “war on drugs,” the debate and occurrence of both decriminalization and legalization, the relationship between drugs and violence, and the impact of drugs on individual users, including rehabilitation and treatment. Three lecture hours per week.
Prerequisite: CRJ101.
