EDC 400 Literacy Development I

This course focuses on language and literacy development of diverse learners from preschool to elementary school, including English Learners. The processes involved in teaching and assessing reading and writing development, using literature in support of literacy development, and approaches to teaching reading and writing will be explored. Three lecture hours per week. Includes 1-3 hours of field experience weekly.
Prerequisites: EDC115 or EEC105, and ENL110 or equivalent W-I course.
