EEC 204 Screen Time, Media and Technologies in the Early Years

This course examines the impact of media and technologies on children’s learning and the implications such tools present in early childhood education. Students will develop a clearer understanding of how technologies and screen time impact children’s development. It explores historical perspectives of technologies, educational technologies, developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate teaching with technologies, technologies for collaborating with families, media and technology for social justice and inclusion. Three-lecture hours per week. Field-based assignments are required.
