ATR 702 - Principles of Athletic Training & Emergency Care4 Credit(s) The objective of this course is to develop fundamental athletic training knowledge and skills necessary for active participation in the patient care setting. Topics include injury and illness prevention, pathology, etiology, assessment, immediate care, and basic therapeutic interventions. In addition, this course will cover the assessment and management of common medical and trauma related emergencies. Topics will be discussed and applied through the lecture and psychomotor components of this course. The course meets four (4) hours per week and is open only to and required of students enrolled in the Athletic Training master’s degree program.
Co-requisites: ATR 700 , ATR 704 , ATR 706 , ATR 708 .
