GPH 261 Geography of Tourism

This course provides an understanding of the nature and scope of tourism geographies. Specifically, the course will explore the significance of tourism to society, and its impacts on the economy and environment. Geographical approaches to the study of tourism and contemporary frameworks regarding human behavior and actions in touristic landscapes will provide the foundations of understanding tourist space, place and identities. Three lecture hours per week. Not open to students who have received credit for GGR261.
