OCT 300 Interprofessional Practice in the Context of Diversity and Social Justice 3 Credit(s) DPDS This course provides students with an interprofessional perspective on group dynamics in the context of diversity and social justice. The course will enhance the skills necessary to effectively function as a member of a highly productive interprofessional team, while specifically addressing the influence of racism, sexism, and ableism on the group dynamic. Using textbooks, scholarly articles, media, experiential learning, self-reflection, and discussion, instructional emphasis will be on effective team leadership / group membership skills that promote diversity, self-awareness, attentiveness to oppression and systemic inequality, and cultural responsivity. Three lecture hours per week. Department consent required.
