HRI 301 Front Office Management 3.0 Credit(s) This course covers the Front Office Department’s primary responsibilities at a hotel, which is considered the center of hotel operations. This course offers learning opportunities for practical skills and knowledge required when working at a Front Office department. Topics and areas of learning include forecasting availability and overbooking, global reservations technologies, individual reservations, group bookings, managing guest services, the role of the room rate, the Night Audit, etc. This course also provides students with an opportunity to acquire the basics of revenue management skills and prepare for the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics exam offered by AH&LA and SHARE affiliated with the Smith Travel Research. CHIA can be an excellent stepping-stone for students who want to pursue and advance their career in the hotel industry. (3 lecture hours)
