ENG 817 - Contemporary Approaches to the Teaching of Composition

3 Credit(s) The primary focus of this class is to introduce middle and high school teachers to the research, theories, and scholarship which inform current writing pedagogies in the discipline of Writing and Rhetoric. Students will implement theory into practice through curriculum design and reflective course assignments. This course is required for MAT and MA/MAT candidates. This course is designed for and highly recommended for students who are current or future teachers. Three lecture hours per week.
