MAT 740 - Computer Applications in Mathematics I3 Credit(s) A programming language will be introduced and used to illustrate computer methods in Calculus, Number Theory, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Statistics or Differential Equations. Attention is paid to machine accuracy, error estimation and multiple-precision arithmetic. Assignments include the coding and running of programs in the Math Lab or on a student’s personal computer. No previous computer experience required. Three lecture hours per week.
