PSY 820 - Theory and Treatment of Substance Use Disorders

3 Credit(s) This course introduces substance use theories, research, and treatment. Using a biopsychosocial perspective, students will learn the physiological and psychological effects of alcohol and other drugs, and the effects of substance use on individuals, families and communities. Current treatments considered effective for different populations will be discussed.
Pre-requisites: PSY 731 and PSY 740, or permission from the Instructor.
