EDS 862 - Practicum Seminar in Sheltered English Immersion

1 Credit(s) This course is designed to provide opportunities for teacher candidates to reflect on the use of effective strategies and techniques related to sheltered content instruction in support of their practicum experience. The course aims to provide the spiraling of sheltered English immersion (SEI) knowledge and skills necessary for teacher candidates to actively practice and demonstrate their competency in teaching and supporting English learners (ELs) at varying levels of English proficiency. In particular, teacher candidates will apply and reflect on a range of approaches and considerations for effectively meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of ELs. One lecture hour per week.
