EDS 829 - Accessing and Designing School Services for Students with Exceptional Learning Needs3 Credit(s) In this course, candidates will investigate categories of disability within the context of the eligibility determination process. Candidates will learn consultation and collaboration skills to support and advocate for individual student learning needs and empower students with exceptionalities to advocate for appropriate accommodations, modifications, and support services. Candidates will read, write, and communicate about IEPs and transition plans, using student voice as the catalyst to identify strategies for implementing IEP and transition goals in the least restrictive environment through home-school-community partnerships. Field-based assignments are required.
