SWK 715 - Dynamics of Privilege and Oppression

3 Credit(s) This course examines how the dynamics of privilege and oppression characterize and shape human experience and contributes to identity formation. The social and institutional structures and values that create systems which marginalize and oppress particular groups while enhancing other groups’ privilege and power will be identified and analyzed.  Diversity, equity, and inclusion are examined through social construction and intersectionality frameworks that acknowledge multiple dimensions of diversity related to social identity and social group membership.
Pre-requisite: Admission to the MSW program OR Permission from the MSW Program Coordinator
