NUR 834F - Adult-Gerontology Primary Care I: Field Experience

4 Credit(s) This course provides clinical training in the role of an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. Students apply skills learned in the prior theory courses with an emphasis on common problems among the adults and older adults in primary care settings. Clinical experiences, case discussions in clinical conferences allow students the opportunity to develop nurse practitioner core and adult gerontology primary care competencies in the ethical, safe, collaborative, and evidence-based provision of care. The practicum requires a minimum of 250 hours of direct faculty-supervised clinical hours with a preceptor.
