EDC 723 - STEAM Methods in Early Childhood I: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Art3 Credit(s) This course integrates an interdisciplinary STEAM approach to teaching science, technology, and engineering in early childhood settings (PreK-2). With vertical progression of content (PreK-4), candidates’ science (i.e. physical, life, and earth sciences), technology, and engineering instruction focuses on project-based activities anchored in real-world problems. Candidates use NGSS science standards, NAEYC guidelines, backwards design, and UDL principles to create developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate instruction that fosters engagement and inquiry. Requires field-based assignments. Three lecture hours per week. Requires 25 hours field based
