SWK 819A - Integrated Practice and Theory for Children and Families I3 Credit(s) This course is the first of a year-long course designed to prepare students for practice with children, adolescents, and families in community-based settings. The course incorporates curricula on child development with practice models for specific developmental periods. The course emphasizes the development and measurement of competencies required in integrated care settings where knowledge, skills, values, and cognitive as well as affective processes specific to addressing the transactional relationship between behavioral and physical health are critical. Three lecture hours per week.
Pre-requisite: SWK 722 or admission to the MSW Advanced Standing program
