POL 231 Introduction to Political Theory 3 Credit(s) W-II This course is an introduction to important political thinkers (may include Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Wollstonecraft, Young, etc) and to important political concepts (private property, positive and negative rights, conservatism, liberalism, socialism, feminism, etc). Students will engage the thinkers and concepts through formal and informal writing exercises designed to help them clarify their own understandings of politics and political science. Three lecture hours per week.
