POL 372 Democracy in Europe, the EU and NATO

This course explores the development of democracy among the United States’ closest allies. Attributes of different systems and challenges to democratic rule will be explored at the national and continental level. Democratic issues and solutions at the level of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will also be explored as these organizations are part of the fundamental political, economic, and security structure of the continent. Three lecture hours per week.
