† Close monitoring of students through the Major and Pre-Practicum advising should be adheredto in order to provide a smooth transistion to the Practicum.  All candidates forInitial Licensure should also consider taking the National Teacher Examination for both sessions, General and Field (English). All candidates for Initial Licensure must take the Massachusetts Teacher Test for Educators Licensure (MTEL), The Communication and Literacy Skills Test and the Subject Matter Test in English.

^ Students who place into the foreign language above the 101 Elementary level will be able to complete this degree program in 120 credits. Those students beginning from the 101 level will need 123 credits to graduate

Exceptions in the timing of courses will be made for transfer students.
