Purpose
The core focus of the Master of Education in Leadership in Physical Education and Movement Studies program will be on leadership, offering coursework to better equip professionals to emerge as leaders in the field. Students will select a “focus area” consisting of 12 credits of indepth study in a specific area of the discipline. In addition, students will have the opportunity to explore outside of the focus area, or even within other disciplines, with 6 elective credits. If applicable, students in this program will have access to the coursework necessary to become eligible for a professional license in physical education.

Additional Information and Notes
The program is a 33 credit hour degree. All students complete the core requirements (12 credits) and one of the following focus areas for 12 credits: Physical Education, Strength and Conditioning, or Adventure Education. To complete the program, students must complete six credits in related coursework as part of their electives and at least three credits of a culminating experience consisting of clinical/field work with an action research project, or an independent research project.
