Graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership

The two-semester variable credit program will focus on supporting current and future teacher leaders in developing the skills of facilitation, developing and facilitating professional learning, working with data, and adopting a leadership stance that is responsive to a particular school organization. For more information, contact your program coordinator.
For admissions into the Graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership, we are requesting that candidates submit the following:
- Official transcripts or transcript evaluation, documenting the highest degree earned (e.g., undergraduate degree, or graduate degree)
- A letter of reference (preferably from a building principal or other educational supervisor)
- A statement of purpose
- A resume, demonstrating evidence of at least two years of teaching, or education-related, experience

Program Requirements
Upon acceptance into the program, you will complete a tentative Plan of Study in consultation with the program coordinator. You must request that any transfer credits be considered at this time. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO MORE THAN THREE COURSES TAKEN AT SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY BEFORE ADMISSION CAN BE COUNTED TOWARDS THIS PROGRAM. You should meet regularly with the program coordinator to discuss your progress and revise your plan of study as needed.
