The Master of Arts in Teaching Middle School Mathematics, a 30 credit hour program, will serve middle school teachers who already have an appropriate initial license, and who wish to complete a master’s degree program to become eligible to apply for professional licensure.
Additional Admissions Requirement
Provisional certification with advanced standing or initial license. This includes a passing score on the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) both the communications/literacy portion and the subject area portion appropriate for this program, Mathematics or Middle School Mathematics, in addition to other requirements.
Applicants for the Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics programs are exempt from having to take either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
Complete, official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended.
Program Requirements
Upon acceptance into the program, you will complete a tentative Plan of Study in consultation with the program coordinator. You must request that any transfer credits be considered at this time. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO MORE THAN THREE COURSES TAKEN AT SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY point average overall.
