The graduate certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages is designed to prepare students to teach ESL in a variety of community, international, workplace, and adult settings. Whether you are beginning your career in TESOL or looking to make a difference in the lives of English learners, this flexible 15-credit program can be tailored to help you meet your goals.
Students who wish to pursue the Master of Arts in Teaching ESOL during or upon completion of the Certificate Program in Teaching ESOL must meet all of the admissions requirements of the MAT program and submit a separate application. Courses successfully completed as part of the Certificate program (15 credits) can be applied to the MAT program (33.5 - 35 credits)

Upon acceptance into the program, you will complete a tentative Plan of Study in consultation with the program coordinator. You must request that any transfer credits be considered at this time. You should meet regularly with the program coordinator to discuss your progress and revise your plan of study as needed. Elective Courses - Choose 3 from the list below
