BIO 301 - Conservation Biology4 Credit(s) DII This course is designed to apply basic biological principles and theories to the challenges involved in the conservation of genetic, species, and community diversity. Current threats to biological diversity and the efficacy of conservation efforts will be addressed. Special emphasis will be placed on the global scope of this rapidly evolving science. Through the use of informational technology, students will investigate local and international conservation issues. Occasional field trips may be required. Four lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: An Introductory Biology laboratory sequence or permission of Department Chairperson.
