POL 362 - Globalization and Geopolitics in the 21st Century3 Credit(s) DIII W In the post-Cold War and post-9/11 era, what will be the future of world politics? Will it be one of expanding and deepening globalization, as many liberals contend and advocate? Will it be a return to the well-traveled road of traditional geopolitics, as many realist contend and advocate? What of global primacy, the institutionalized world order provided by a hegemonic superstate? Are there possible futures beyond these contending visions? Students will read about, discuss and debate these and other related critical questions about the future of world politics. Three lecture hours per week.
