SWK 102 - Social Welfare Past and Present3 Credit(s) This course examines the function of social welfare in society from various perspectives. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of the US social welfare system and its relationship to important social issues, including poverty and wealth. Social welfare is studied from a policy perspective, and students are given the tools for beginning social policy analysis. Students develop and articulate perspectives on social welfare and examine their own values concerning human need.
