SOC 335 - Peoples and Cultures of the Caribbean

Analysis of the present socio-economic structures of the Caribbean countries, with emphasis upon the historical processes that account for their chronic state of underdevelopment. An in-depth study of the major nations of the area is attempted in an effort to arrive at a Caribbean ideal type. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: SOC 201  or permission of Department Chairperson.
