CSC 271 - Introduction to Computer Systems4 Credit(s) This course introduces the underlying concepts of computer systems. It is designed to provide students with an understanding of the hierarchy of abstractions and implementations that constitute a modern computer system. Topics include low-level programming using primitive machine instructions, processor control flow, low-level program control and debugging, and basic program management and structures. Three lecture hours and three hours of scheduled laboratory per week, plus extensive laboratory work outside of class. Prerequisite: CSC 202J .
