EDU 487 - Practicum in Student Teaching in Spanish (5-12)12 Credit(s) A full-time classroom experience in a local middle or high school setting providing the pre-service undergraduate with on-site supervisory support in the classroom and periodic observation and evaluation by a college supervisor at the school placement site. The practice of measuring and evaluating student achievement will also be examined as an integral part of the teaching/learning process. Students are also required to attend weekly seminar sessions. At these weekly sessions additional instruction in measurement and evaluation, classroom management and teaching strategies will be given. Minimum of 300 clock hours per semester, plus weekly seminars. This course is normally taken during the Senior year. Conducted in Spanish. Prerequisites: Permission of the Department Chairperson and Program Coordinator. The passing of the Communication and Literacy parts of the Massachusetts Teachers Test.
