GLS 245 - Lakes and Environmental Change3 Credit(s) DII This course will provide a background on natural lake processes so that students will be able to identify both natural and human-made perturbations to lake systems. The first part of the course will examine modern-day geologic, physical, chemical, and biologic processes in lakes. In the second part of the course, this knowledge will be applied to the sediment record to understand geologic records of past environmental and climate change. Case studies will be utilized, and a field trip may be required. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: GLS 100 or permission of Department Chairperson.
