IDS 150 - Avenues to Successful Communication: First Semester Program12 Credit(s)
An interdisciplinary program for freshmen in which they take three courses each semester: ENG 101 /ENG 102 English Composition, HST 102 /HST 101 History of Western Civilization, SPC101 Speech Communication and MEC102 Information Searching and Media Communications. Students enroll in Composition, History and Speech Communication during one semester and during the other semester, enroll in Composition, History, and Information Searching and Media Communications. The faculty who teach the courses work together as a team and integrate the assignments in all four courses. The program provides a unique opportunity for students to approach learning in a holistic rather than a fragmented way.
