ART 233 - Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo Art 3 Credit(s) DI A comprehensive study of the major styles in painting, sculpture and architecture from the Proto-Renaissance to the end of the 18th Century. The relationship between the work of art and the social and cultural forces that have contributed to its style and meaning are examined. Class lectures and discussions are supported by slides. A visit to a Boston museum is required. Museum visit at students’ expense. Required of Art majors. Three lecture hours per week.
