CRJ 435 - Ethics in Criminal Justice Decision Making 3 Credit(s) An analysis of the moral and philosophical dilemmas which criminal justice policymaking and field personnel at all levels face while carrying out their daily responsibilities. The impact of moral concerns on practical decision-making is a primary focus, and specific topics are drawn from all phases and agencies of criminal justice processing, including law enforcement, the courts and corrections. Attention also focuses on the tradeoffs involved in resolving moral dilemmas as they impact the criminal justice system, along with an overview of how future developments in the field will affect both evolving conceptions of morality and optimal problem resolution strategies. CRJ Policy and Research concentration requirement. Administration concentration elective. Prerequisite: CRJ 101 .
