HST 204 - U.S. History and Constitutional Government I 3 Credit(s) DIII This course traces the development of the United States from the colonial period to the end of the Civil War, surveying the economic, political, social and cultural aspects of this development. Constitutional development at the national and state levels will be explored, with particular emphasis on the Massachusetts experience. This course provides the matrix for courses in American Literature, Education, Economics, Government and Sociology. Three lecture hours per week. Fulfills Massachusetts’s teacher certification American Government requirement. Not open to students who have received credit for HIS204.
