ART 232 - Prehistoric, Ancient and Medieval Art3 Credit(s) DI A comprehensive study of the major styles in painting, sculpture and architecture from Prehistory to the end of the Middle Ages. The relationship between the work of art and the social and cultural forces that have contributed to its style and meaning are examined. Class lectures and discussions are supported by slides. A visit to a Boston museum is required. Museum visit at students’ expense. Required of Art majors. Three lecture hours per week.
