EDU 729 - Literacy Coaching & Collaboration3 Credit(s) This course reviews evidence-based theories, practices, and programs for teaching reading and writing and provides an introduction to literacy coaching for the experienced educator. The processes involved in literacy development, such as word analysis, vocabulary, fluency, writing, and comprehension, will be emphasized, as well as the fundamentals of professional collaboration. Students will experience coaching first-hand as they are coached by peers and the course instructor. Requires a 25-hour pre-practicum field experience involving conducting demonstration lessons for classroom teachers.
