ENG 722 - Methods of Teaching Adult English Language Learners3 Credit(s) This course provides an introduction to teaching English to speakers of other languages in adult or community settings in the United States and abroad. Current methods and approaches and strategies used in teaching adults will be explored and practiced. Topics include working with diverse populations, teaching language in context, frameworks and standards used in adult eduction, adult literacy, and issues surrounding culture and identity. 10 hours of field experience is required. This course is not appropriate for those seeking licensure in K-12 schools.
