IDS 738 - Refugee and Asylum Law, Policies and Programs3 Credit(s) This course will examine the international refugee crisis. The course will cover the international and domestic laws and policies that pertain to refugee rights and state obligations, including the asylum system in the United States. We will explore the causes of the dramatic increase in refugee populations around the world, and we will assess the proposed reforms, humanitarian efforts, and preventive measures of the United Nations, NGOs, the United States, and other state actors.
