SOC 242 Principles of Criminology 3 Credit(s) DIII The development of theories of criminality; extent and typology of crime in the United States. Changing attitudes toward the criminal and their effects upon the field of corrections; the effects of social change upon the climate of violence in society. Three lecture hours per week. Open only to Juniors and Seniors. Not open to students who have received credit for SOC 342. Prerequisite: SOC 110 or SOC 201 or permission of Department Chairperson.
