SMS 385 Teaching Secondary Physical Education 4 Credit(s) This course examines secondary physical education models and effective teaching strategies in middle and high school physical settings. The examination of secondary curriculum, unit/lesson planning, teaching methodologies, management techniques, legal/ethical responsibilities, and leadership skills. Three lecture hours per week. Course requirements include fifteen hours of field-based experience in secondary physical education classes. Required course in the Physical Education Concentration. Not open to students who have received credit for SFL322P.
Prerequisites: SFL198 or SMS 177 , and SFL221 or SMS 201 , and matriculated into the Physical Education Concentration.
